"I've always enjoyed handwork, creating shapes and discovering form in what I see. I have explored different media in arts and crafts and have found metal a versatile medium in which to experiment. My first exposure to metalwork was in a high school jewelry class. I then spent some time casting silver rings with my father's dental equipment. I enrolled in a college jewelry and metalwork class because I thought it would be fun to make my daughter a necklace for her graduation. I found metalwork so enjoyable I decided to continue doing it full-time.
Most of my work is made from small pieces of silver, gold or stone I put together in various combinations until a design emerges. After joining and finishing, the parts become integrated into new and different forms. The process of learning both visual and technical aspects of this work continues to intrigue me, and hopefully will provide pleasure to others as well."
