"These photographs are an attempt to record the varietal richness of Western Civilization, much of which is being lost. On another level, these photographs are about a personal kind of memory - an artistic attempt to realize on paper not what a scene looked like, but what it felt like. As an exhibiting photographer, I feel that I should make my own prints rather than have a lab do it. I make my own prints; I use no assistants."
