Elaine's dried wildflower compositions are available as framed pieces, embedded in candles, or reproduced in full color on T-shirts, aprons, totes and bookmarks. "These Rocky Mountain wildflowers have been gathered from private property in the area surrounding the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Westcliffe, Colorado. Tenderly picked at the height of their bloom to retain color and form, they are then pressed and dried for a two week period. No preservatives or artificial colorings have been added." | |

April designs glass paperweights that are each a microcosm of the Rocky Mountain environment. She grows over 20 different wildflower species on her Sunshine Canyon property. She dries the blooms in a fine sand, then combines them with crystals, pinecones, moss, and other natural materials in exquisite compositions that evoke the Colorado high country. |

Diane Washburn and her husband Bob Anderson started making hanging canvas chairs in 1977 in a cabin in western Wisconsin. The cabin was very rustic with no running water or electricity. The canvas was hand dyed over a wood stove, and the chairs were sewn on a treadle sewing machine. As demand for the chairs grew, they set up a workshop with electricity and purchased dyed canvas from manufacturers. Since 1982, they have been making their Skychairs in Boulder. Diane and Bob's elegant chair was honored in the prestigious International Canvas Furniture Design Competition in Japan with its First Place Award. http://www.skychairs.com |
