CONSIGNMENT TERMS AND APPLICATION FORM
Contact:

Boulder Arts & Crafts Cooperative, in business since 1971, is an artist owned gallery operated by its 45 members who reside in Colorado, USA. The consignment program provides an opportunity for artists to display work on a rotating basis. Once accepted, consignment work is reviewed regularly by a committee comprised of Co-op members. Consignment work may be rotated out to allow new artists an opportunity to display their work.

Currently we only carry work made in the USA.

Consignment terms are 55/45, paid at the beginning of each month. We require a 30 day written notification to terminate representation by either the consignee or BACC.


APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Applicants must complete the attached form and submit it with 3 to 5 slides.
  • Slides must be marked with name and address. (No labels on Slides)
  • You must include a SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED BUSINESS ENVELOPE WITH TWO STAMPS to ensure the return of any necessary information.
  • Mail these to BACC before the second Tuesday of the month (EXCLUDING DECEMBER).
  • DO NOT bring in work to the store unless specifically requested by the consignment committee.

Applications not completed in this manner will not be reviewed and will be returned.
Work will be judged with regard to the following:
1. Work must exhibit a high quality of workmanship and unique design.
2. Work must not duplicate current work in the store.
3. Work must be able to be displayed effectively by BACC.

POTTERS PLEASE NOTE: Pottery applications will be handled differently. Pottery slides should be submitted for consideration prior to the first Wednesday in January, April, July, and October.Potters will then be notified of our decision following the second Tuesday of these months.

AFTER SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION YOU CAN EXPECT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. An invitation to consign your work in the store.
2. An invitation to show 3 to 5 pieces to a committee for review.
3. Slides to be kept on file for future openings.
4. Return of your slides if we are unable to use your work.

If your work is accepted for consignment, the pieces we receive must be representative of the slides that were sent. BACC reserves the right to return any work we deem unsuitable.

BACC maintains an active slide file of applicants whose work is of interest to us. Work is sometimes juried from the slide file to fill available locations in the store.

The New Works Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month excluding December and notifies each applicant in a timely manner. Please send your completed application to the following address:

BENEFIT SHOWS

Boulder Arts & Crafts Cooperative presents a series of benefit shows annually, with a percentage of the sales going to local community organizations. We are seeking work for our annual Judaica Show. Other shows include Masks Arrayed ( a Halloween mask show) and the Souper Bowlder - potters donate bowls to benefit the Boulder Homeless Shelter.
